Who am I?
Hey, I’m Asaduzzaman Rasel, the person behind golfbillow. By background, I hold a Master’s in Islamic Studies from IU of Bangladesh, and yes, I’m writing this from Bangladesh, not the U.S.
I know that might sound odd for a site built around American golfers, but golf gear research doesn’t require a home course down the street; it requires hours of digging through spec sheets, user manuals, forums, and real testing data, which I do daily regardless of where I’m sitting.
When I’m not comparing rangefinder specs, I’m usually annoying my family by explaining why slope compensation matters.
How I Connected With Golf?
I didn’t grow up playing golf; I grew up watching it on TV and being fascinated by how much gear seemed to matter. My real entry point was in 2016, when a cousin visiting from the U.S. brought back a cheap rangefinder as a gift.
I had no idea how to use it, definitely didn’t understand “slope adjustment,” and returned wildly inaccurate distances for weeks before figuring out what I was doing wrong. That confusion is what pulled me in; I wanted to actually understand the gear, not just own it.
What I Actually Know?
I’m not a touring pro, and I don’t teach swing mechanics. What I do know, in detail, is gear: how slope-compensating rangefinders differ in lock-on speed and accuracy, how shaft flex changes performance across swing speeds, where budget clubs cut corners versus premium ones, and which “features” on a spec sheet actually matter on the course versus which are marketing filler.
I’ve tested dozens of products against real, checkable criteria — range, accuracy, battery life, build quality — and I keep a running log of what held up and what didn’t. My limit is clear: I focus on equipment and practical, gear-related tips, not coaching or swing instruction.
Where I Found the Gap?
Most golf gear content falls into one of two traps. Either it’s a copy-pasted spec sheet dressed up as a “review,” with no evidence anyone actually used the product, or it’s written for golfers with unlimited budgets, ignoring anyone trying to find the best value option.
When I was first trying to pick a rangefinder, I couldn’t find an honest comparison that told me which weaknesses actually mattered versus which were nitpicks. I want to fix that gap for the next person doing the same research I once did.
My Plan to Fix It
Every product on Golfbillow gets checked against real, comparable criteria before I recommend it — not just repackaged manufacturer copy. I write out actual weaknesses alongside strengths, because a review that only praises isn’t useful. And I translate spec-sheet jargon into plain, practical buying advice: not “what does this feature do,” but “does this feature matter for your game and your budget.”
